I ran my first 5K on St. Patrick's day. 32:46 isn't a very impressive time, I'm sure, but I am very proud of accomplishing this goal. I have to give credit to my brother-in-law. My husband couldn't participate with me, so I convinced my brother-in-law to come instead. The race held a "best dresses" competition, and we decided to make green tutus and t-shirts. I have to say we looked a little goofy, but, we got a lot of attention and every one knew we were team tutu. Also, if it weren't for him, I probably would have pansied out and walked a little more than I actually did. The winners of the "best dressed" should be posted on facebook pretty soon, but I have boycotted facebook until after finals, so I will not know for another week. Overall, I have decided to keep running and hopefully improve my time.
I quit my job at the Marriott, and last Friday was my last day. I have just been hired to work on campus in the financial aid office. I'm really excited about it, believe it or not. After telling some of my friends, they give me this, "now you're one of those people, those people are frustrating..." And I agree, it takes a while process information and whatever, I'm not 100% sure because I haven't actually been behind the scenes yet, I just got hired. But overall, I think the change of pace, scenery and people will be good for me.
Next semester is looking exciting as well. The classes that I am going to be taking should be fun and not too hard. Most of them are just the general studies that I need to finish my associate's degree, and one art class. I am so looking forward to taking more art classes. But this semester will be good. One more milestone completed. Right?
The older I gem the more I realize that change is good. I need it to stay focused and happy. I look forward to the current changes in my life and for the wonderful blessing that I have. I am happy that I have the ability to take control of my life and the situations that I am in. Life is good.
